New Poetry Mural

This mural is for my friend Rosa Velazquez, the first person I ever met who was interested in angel art, so I thought an angel was appropriate! The same image, tile size, was originally a study for the larger mural so I could let her see the colors and ideas. It goes together with other pieces for other walls.

The poem was written especially for Rosa, and inspired by her love of life and spirituality. I look forward to seeing the mural installed very soon, and hope she likes it!

Los Tres Reyes Magos (The Three Wise Men)

It's never too late to celebrate los Reyes! I painted these for a Three Kings Day activity with the Puerto Rican Artisans on January 5th at the East Harlem Cafe. Just to share an interesting fact, it seems Puerto Ricans invented the verb "reyar," and we also assign the names differently. Learn more (in Spanish): Hablemos español: El verbo "reyar"

Artful Kitchen

My customer, Katherine, asked me to create the the design for her kitchen based on the details of a tile she bought from me from the very first batch of Exotic Ladies tiles I made. She chose the
Muse with green hair, which became the centerpiece of this project. The original tile is at the top of the window, by itself. The empty space to the left is for placing a clock. For the story, visit my "secret blog," Hoy, artista.
