Smile if you think they are fun!
These are the pieces I recently created for the East Harlem Bilingual Head Start, illustrating healthy recipes for children to make with their parents.
Rita Prats, the director of The East Harlem Bilingual Head Start has taken upon herself the mission of educating children and parents in creating good eating habits, and making wise decisions when it comes to food. Well, it does not have to be boring, right?
Inspired by Ana María, the assistant director, who asked me if I could make food animals, I created these digital paintings, beginning with the basic shapes and compositions painted on canvas, and then photographing and completing them digitally. The teachers wrote the recipes and Judimar Negrón translated them. Each one contains the ingredients for a recipe. Can you guess?
